In the broadest sense, coaching is the process of enabling and helping people - either individually or in teams – to perform at the peak of their abilities.
Coaching focuses on drawing out innate potential – a potential that we so often have an exceptional ability to mess with!
It involves drawing out people’s strengths and sidestepping barriers and limiting beliefs in order to enable them to work and perform at their very best.
The purpose of good effective coaching in the organisational context - is to maximise performance and development and personal fulfilment in alignment with explicit business needs.
So what’s the difference between coaching and consulting?
Whilst coaching is at least in part, about asking the right questions - consulting involves giving direct answers and solutions to specific questions or problems.
